Margaret Wolf, age 87, passed away peacefully at her daughters home in New Castle, Colorado on February 22, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, businesswoman and friend.
Margaret was born to Harold Ebersol Richardson and Lillian Idelle (Burton) Richardson on March 15, 1926 in Colorado Springs. She married Michael Kirpa, Jr. in Raton, New Mexico on October 29, 1943. Together, they had one child, Michele.
Margaret later married Henry Wolf on April 1, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Margaret and Henry owned and operated the Charcoalburger Drive-Inn, in Glenwood Springs from 1968 until 1989, later retiring to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They enjoyed riding their motorcycles across the country and raising horses on their ranch in Silt Mesa, Colorado. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the River City Singles group of Grand Junction, Colorado. She also enjoyed getting together with her friends at her exercise class and was a loyal Broncos fan.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Michele (and Michael) Prehm of New Castle, Colorado; her sister, Linda (and Michael) McKinney of Fort Wayne, Indiana; her grandchildren, Andy (and Shaleen) Prehm of Peyton, Colorado; Cindy (and Dean) Kline of New Castle, Colorado; her great grandchildren, Victoria and Natalie Prehm of Peyton, Colorado; and several nephews and nieces.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wolf; and her brother, Stanley Richardson.
Private family services are planned for a future date at the Shrine of Remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Margaret’s name to Home Care and Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 3768, Basalt, Colorado 81621.
She will be dearly missed.
