Margarett Louise (Rea) Zeeman
January 10, 1940 – November 2, 2017
Margarett passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the Peyton area, for 35 years.
She was born on January 10, 1940 to Earl Onis Rea and Syble (Quinton) Rea.
She worked as a professional hairdresser in Hampton, Virginia, for years and later owned and operated Magi’s Grocery in Peyton, Colorado for 15 years.
Margarett was a talented person who loved to cook, sew, do hair, garden, and play slot machines.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Lynn Rea of Florida, and Billy Wayne Rea of Oklahoma; her sisters: Barbara Ames of Oklahoma, and Sybil Lee Newton of Oklahoma. Her surviving kin are her husband, Ervin T. Zeeman, Jr., of Colorado; stepdaughter, Rose Lipe; and stepson, Michael Lipe; her sisters: Linda Joyce “Cindy” Hoffman of Blanchard, Oklahoma, and Wilma “Susie” Lajoie of Yukon, Oklahoma; brothers: Albert “Preston” Rea of Picayune, Mississippi, and Paul Douglas Rea of Oklahoma; and her brother-in-law, Jerry Zeeman of Denver, Colorado.
Her great-great-grandmother was listed, at the time of her death, as the oldest living person in Oklahoma at 115 years 4 months and 29 days. Her name was Elizabeth (Jacobs) Quinton of Quinton, (Choctaw Nation) Oklahoma.
