Marguerite (Barrett) Mackay Edmond passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
She was born on the 4th of July, 1917 in Philadelphia, PA to John Hamilton Mackay and Marguerite (Barrett) Mackay. She resided in PA in her early years and moved to Detroit, MI as a pre-teen. As an adult, before marriage, she was employed by Chrysler Corporation.
Marguerite married Thomas Edmond on April 28, 1945 at the Detroit Yacht Club. They retired to Colorado Springs in 1981. She was a lifelong Methodist and attended Stratmoor United Methodist Church. She was an avid golf and baseball fan. She enjoyed embroidery and completed many pieces for the church bazar.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Tom Edmond, her father and mother, and her sister, Mary (Mackay) Lewis. She is survived by her son, James H. (Carol) Edmond, her step-daughters, three great-grandchildren; a niece, Sharon Edwards; and four grand-nieces.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 East Fountain Blvd. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Blvd. Private interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
