Maria "Mary" Auwae

March 9, 1976 – February 4, 2019

Maria Auxillo Avila-Monreal Auwae, age 42, passed away on 4 February 2019.  She was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO for 23 years and was a former resident of Lamar, CO.  She was a Zumba Instructor.

Mary was born on 9 March 1976 to Rosendo Avila Valadez and Benita Monreal Vasquez in Plateros, Fresnillo, Zacatecas. On 11 September 2004 she married Kevin Auwae in Colorado Springs, CO.

From growing up on a small farm in Mexico to skiing the slopes of the Rocky Mountains and traveling to different locations all around the world – Mary had an adventurer’s heart.  She also was a devoted Christian and had a deep passion for Jesus Christ.  At a young age she was an altar girl for the town’s church, Santo Nino de Atocha, in Plateros, Mexico.  After moving to Colorado she attended Rocky Mountain Calvary for 17 years.  Zumba dancing and instructing was also her passion – her tenacity and dedication to her craft was truly inspiring. It was amazing to see her teach her passion to the world.

She attended Escuela Secundaría 3 (High School) in Fresnillo, Mexico and graduated in the year 1994.  She trained as a Dental Assistant in Colorado Springs and graduated in the year 2004.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Auwae; and her children: Daniel, Brandon, Noelani and Nathaniel; As well as her mother Benita; father Rosendo; brothers Jose and Juan; and sister Ruby.  She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Israel Avila Monreal.

A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, 8 February 2019 and a memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, 9 February 2019.  Both will be held at the Shrine of Remembrance located at 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Inurnment will be at the Columbarium of Our Risen Savior (same location) at a later date.  A reception will be held following the memorial service at the Hillside Community Center, 925 South Institute Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Maria Auxillo Avila-Monreal Auwae, de 42 años, falleció el día 4 de febrero del 2019.  Ella vivió en Colorado Springs, CO durante 23 años y anterior a eso residió en Lamar, CO.  Trabajó como instructora de Zumba.

Mary nació el 9 de marzo de 1976, hija de Rosendo Avila Valadez y Benita Monreal Vasquez en la ciudad de Plateros, Fresnillo, Zacatecas. Se casó con Kevin el 11 de setiembre del 2004 en Colorado Springs, CO.

María siempre fue muy aventurera. Creció en un rancho pequeño en México. Esquiaba en las Montañas Rocallosas y viajaba por muchas partes del mundo. María era una cristiana entregada llena de pasión por Jesucristo. Cuando era niña participaba en la parroquia Santo Nino de Atocha, en Plateros, México.  Al mudarse a Colorado asistió a la iglesia de Rocky Mountain Calvary por 17 años.  Disfrutaba muchísimo el deporte de Zumba, los que la conocieron sabían qie su tenacidad y dedicación eran una inspiración. Era asombroso verla compartiendo su pasión con el mundo. 

Asistió a la escuela secundaria 3 en Fresnillo, México y se graduó en 1994.  Luego obtuvo un diploma como asistente dental en Colorado Springs en el 2004.

Quedan aquí, su amado esposo, Kevin Auwae, sus hijos: Daniel, Brandon, Noelani y Nathaniel; su madre Benita; su padre Rosendo; sus hermanos José, Juan y su hermana Ruby.  La precedió en el fallecimiento, su amado hermano, Israel Avila Monreal.

La visita fúnebre será el viernes 8 de febrero, de 5 a 7 p.m. El funeral se realizará el sábado 9 de febrero a las 10 a.m. Ambos eventos serán en Shrine of Remembrance, ubicado en 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. La presentación de la urna será en el Columbarium of Our Risen Savior (misma ubicación) en un futuro próximo. La recepción sucederá después del funeral en Hillside Community Center, 925 South Institute Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

Your continued faith will continue to comfort you along with the many promises of our Heavenly Father. Mi más sentido pésame, primeramente a sus padres, ni siquiera puedo imaginarme el dolor tan grande que sienten, primero por la pérdida reciente de su amado hijo y ahora por la pérdida de su amada hija Mary, a sus pequeños hijos y esposo que el Señor Jesús los abrase con su amor, les de consuelo y la resignación que necesitan por tan lamentable pérdida, descanse en paz hermosa mujer de Dios.
