Marian Lantz
December 11, 1926 – October 27, 2017
Marian went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on October 27, 2017.
Born in Turner, Colorado, to Augustine and Theresa Soto, she lived most of her life in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She went on to attend Business College and then to nurses training with the Sisters of Charity of Glockner-Penrose Hospital.
Marian married Lonnie H. Lantz, in Raton, New Mexico, later renewing their vows at Pauline Chapel by Father (Monsignor) Harrington. Her new profession as homemaker, and an exquisite cook, also allowed her to spend time with her family. Time then directed her to a lengthy career with the Cheyenne Mountain Country Club, while also obtaining her real-estate license and working as an agent with Colorado City Realty. However, the care of others was always her passion; she was very compassionate and provided care with dignity. This lead her to return to CNA School, graduating with a degree and certification in the field. In addition, Marian thoroughly enjoyed dedicating herself to the field of nursing while helping the needy and sick. She loved people and touched everyone with her smile and personality. She found joy as she became an advocate and volunteer for seniors, even in her own senior life.
Marian’s interests included spending hours gardening, reading subjects of quality and current events, and dancing while enjoying a wide variety of music.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Lonnie; three brothers: Conception, Fernando, and Frank; and her sister, Carmen. She is survived by her beloved sister, Ruth. She is also survived by her loving family: son, Terry D. Lantz (Melodee D.); and her precious granddaughter, Brandee Raquel Lantz; and niece, Marlene Cully, who spent a great amount of time with her throughout the years and who also kept in touch throughout her lifetime. She also will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and cherished.
The Lantz family thanks her doctors: Dr. Stephen Fox (Nurse Ali) and staff, Dr. Richard Evans and the entire CSHP staff, including the caring personnel of Penrose Hospital, all who were so kind while providing loving care throughout the time of her illness.
In honor of her wishes, a private interment was held at the Shrine of Remembrance.
