Marie Walters

Marie Audrey Walters, age 88, passed away on March 2, 2019. She was a resident of Aurora, CO for 16 years and was formerly a resident of Pueblo, CO and Colorado Springs, CO.

She was a Telephone Operator with Mountain Bell, until they split, and she was then an Employee of AT&T as a Long-Distance Service Operator until she retired.

Marie was born on July 25, 1930 to Ben Pascoe and Mabel Lucille (Pickens) Pascoe in La Veta, CO. She later married Ernest William Walters.

Marie enjoyed reading, doing word search, and collecting blue birds. She loved listening to music of all kinds and would have surprised people with some of her music tastes {Blondie, Hall & Oats, The Village People and of course Big Band, Country (old and new)}. She also loved to eat out.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Walters-Buzick (Loren Buzick); her granddaughters: Chelsey Marie Gillespey, Christyna Anne Gillespey (Kirsten Miller) and Alex Buzick; and her great-granddaughters: Ariana Marie Hernandez and Ava Storm Parrish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest William Walters; her parents, Ben and Mabel Pascoe; her siblings: Emily Verderaime, Ben Pasoce, Jr, Gladys Chutich and Joe Pascoe.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs CO 80910.

She was and always will be the Pillar of Our Family and will be missed so very much!!

  3. Aunt Marie was loving, generous and fun loving. She had a quick wit and could banter and joke with anyone who came to know her. She was loyal and devoted to her daughter, granddaughters, great granddaughters and her family. We are so sad to lose her and pray that she rests in peace. Tony and Donna
