Marilyn Stephens, a resident of Colorado Springs for 35 years, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019. She was formerly a resident of Chicago, Illinois.
Marilyn was born on April 28, 1921 to Joseph E. and Bernice L. (Bower) McCormick in Chicago, Illinois. She married John Richard Stephens on May 25, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois.
She worked in retail sales of cosmetics in Chicago.
She enjoyed sewing, handcrafts, and needlepoint. She also sang, danced, and loved music. She was a member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children: Bruce Stephens and Leanne Bengtson; her grandchildren: Brad Stephens, Erin Stephens, Kelly Lewis, and T.J. Bengtson. She was preceded in death by her husband.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4040 Nonchalant Circle South, Colorado Springs, CO 80917. A reception will follow at the church. Burial will then take place at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.
