Marina C. Bernabe, a Colorado Springs resident for 37 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. She was a Patient Registrar for Memorial Hospital and retired in October 2009.
Marina was born on March 3, 1946 in The Philippines to Pedro Mendoza Castillo and Esperanza S. (Galiza) Castillo. She married Lorente Felizar Bernabe on February 14, 1975 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
She enjoyed reading, music, gardening, traveling, and crafting.
She is survived by her son, Lorente Bernabe, Jr.; her sisters: Tina Bumagat, Oly Reyes, Ellie Castillo, and Naty Halvorson; and her brother, Virglio Castillo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Catalino Castillo; and a sister, Caridad Castillo.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2715 East Pikes Peak Avenue.
She will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends.
