Marshall Wells, age 63, passed away at his home in Colorado Springs, following a long illness. He was an avid outdoorsman, carpenter, father, grandfather, and friend to many.
Marshall Jack Wells, Jr. was born on July 15, 1950 in Frankfurt, Germany to the late Marshall and Kreszenz (Kolhofer) Wells. He moved with his family to the U.S. in 1956, living in Alaska for a brief time and eventually settling in Colorado Springs. He attended North Middle School and Palmer High School. He married Karen Johnston in 1974 in Orlando, Florida.
His former wife, Karen Wells, and their three children survive him: Justin Wells (wife, Jeanine) Wells of Elbert; Eric Wells of Colorado Springs; and Kristen Wells of Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by a brother, Dietmar Peter Wells, of Newport News, Virginia; his three grandchildren: Dillon, Moira, and Blake; and his canine companion, Samantha.
His parents and his sister, Liz Wehrley, preceded him in death.
Funeral Services are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the chapel. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the Eastonville Cemetery in Peyton, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marshall’s name may be made to the Wells Memorial Fund in care of Farmer’s State Bank in Falcon, Colorado.
