Martha O. Hentschel, age 96, went home to be with her Lord on April 15, 2016. Martha was born December 15, 1919 in Blue Earth, Minnesota to the late Olaus and Polly (Erickson) Markeland.

Martha was a comptometer operator for a few years before marrying Sgt. Eddie A. Hentschel on July 15, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. She was a housewife and hard worker for Hewlett Packard for six years. She had been a part-owner/operator of Park Variety Gifts in Woodland Park, Colorado.

Martha had lived in Grand Junction, Colorado for eight years with her daughter and family before moving into Courtyard Care Nursing Home in Fruita, Colorado where she was living at the time of her death.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Gloria Hentschel Haitz (Skip) of Grand Junction, Colorado; and two sons, David Hentschel (Nona) and Michael Hentschel (Lori), both of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also survived by a sister, Madeleine Naumann of Brewster, Minnesota and several nieces and nephews. She had eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, her parents, 2 brothers, and a sister.

Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard. Entombment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard.
