Martin William Aronovitz, MD died October 12, 2015 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Rochester, NY, September 24, 1940 to Benjamin and Mollie Aronovitz. Martin earned his undergraduate degree in English Honors from the University of Rochester and graduated from the State University of New York College of Medicine in Syracuse, New York. After serving in the US Public Health Service as a Naval Lieutenant Commander, Martin completed his psychiatric training at the University of Colorado and the University of New Mexico. While in residency, Martin met the love of his life, psychiatric social worker Alice Bierschbach; they married in 1972. Dr. Aronovitz set up his private psychiatric practice in Colorado Springs, spanning over 40 years. He also served as a consultant to Ft. Carson, Peterson Air Force Base and the US Air Force Academy.

Martin loved literature, classical music, art, walking and hiking. His friends and family relished his sharp-witted sense of humor, brilliant mind and thoughtful advice. However, it was his family that he loved foremost.

Martin is survived by his wife of forty-three years Alice, son Benjamin Aronovitz MD, daughter Ann Aronovitz Citrin, son-in-law Michael Citrin MD, grandchildren Molly and Mark Citrin, sister Fraeda Parish and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jeremy and Gerson Aronovitz, MD.

We will love him and miss him forever.
