Mary Ann Franzen, age 83, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2011. She was a Colorado Springs resident for 43 years.
She was born on April 27, 1928 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Anton and Agnes (Beuning) Reller. She married Marvin Franzen on June 18, 1951 in Little Falls, Minnesota. Her life was about her home, her children and grandchildren. She was very loving and caring and will be deeply missed.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughters: Christy Whale and Susan (husband Patrick) Heinzen; her grandchildren: Coral and Marina Whale, and Paul, Christopher, and Nicholas Heinzen; her great-granddaughter, Layla Whale Larson; her siblings: Sr. Giles Reller, OSB, Carol Helmin, Kathy Hall, Bob Ballmann, Jerry Reller, and Tony Reller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Marvin H. Franzen, USAF, Retired; an infant son, Joseph Franzen; her parents; her step-mother, Loretta Reller; her siblings: Madge Gott, Bertha Peters, Theresa Schulte, Hilda Doble, Rita Feuker, Dolores Gangl and Herb Reller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private interment will take place at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
