Mary “Frankie” Frances Gribble, age 91, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 31, 2017. She was a 50 year resident of Colorado Springs.
Frankie was born on September 11, 1925 to Eugene McPherson Morris and Emily Octavia (Mitchell) Morris in Austin, Texas. Frankie married William Ariste Gribble on June 15, 1946 in Austin, Texas.
Frankie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching birds in the backyard, square dancing with her husband, cooking for her family and spending time with her family, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Village Seven Presbyterian Church and, along with her husband, Bill, was active in Bible studies and teaching Vacation Bible School every summer. She attended Austin High, Austin, Texas.
Frankie is survived by her three children: Pat Gervell (Bill), Bill Gribble Jr. (Holly) and Dave Gribble (Beth); five grandchildren: David B. Gribble, Zachary T. Gribble, Susanne Roberson, Jonathan A. Gribble, Christina M. Gribble; and seven great-grandchildren: Jeremiah Roberson, Tanner Gribble, Katie Roberson, Tinley Gribble, Liam Roberson, Maverick Roberson and Taylee Gribble. She was preceded in death by her husband and six sisters and two brothers.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at 6 p.m. on September 16, 2017 at Village Seven Presbyterian Church, 4050 Nonchalant Circle South with a private inurnment to be held at a later date at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum/Funeral Home.
Since Frankie was a Texas native, in lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse for Hurricane Harvey.
