Mary Kreig Jenkins McRae, 88, of Colorado Springs, went to be with the Lord on July 29, 2014. Mary was born November 22, 1925, to Rev. James D. and Mary Kreig (Peg) Jenkins in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated from Tilghman High School in Paducah, Kentucky, and Christian College in Columbia, Missouri.

On March 23, 1946, she married Kenneth E. McRae, Jr. They lived in Memphis until 1990, when they moved to Colorado Springs to be near their son. They were married 59 years. Mary enjoyed handwork, collectibles and home decorating. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking. She also had a keen sense of humor and a gift for writing. Mary assisted her husband in his hobby as “Smiley the Clown.” Many kids have known her as “Mary the Magic Circus Lady.” Together they brought delight to many children.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Martha McRae of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Andy McRae of Westminster and Jennie Anderson (Dale) of Colorado Springs; her great-granddaughter, Ryshelle McRae of Westminster; her sister, Maggie Dominy of Rockwall, Texas; and her brother-in-law, Albert McRae of Memphis, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Kenneth, who passed away in 2005.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Bible Church, 5075 Flintridge Drive, Colorado Springs. Private burial will take place at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
