Mary Margaret “Peggy” Rossi-Coupens, 74, died peacefully at her home, June 10, 2021.  She was born in Pueblo, Colorado, December 29, 1946 to Harry and Theresa Rossi.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Mike, daughter, Gina (Mike) Flynn, granddaughters, Hadley and Ella Flynn of Pelham, New York, sister Annette (Dan) Rossi-Davis, Denver, CO, brother, Bud (Vicky) Rossi, Richland, Washington, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.  She is preceded in death by a son, Brad, and her parents.

Peggy was a loving and devoted wife of fifty-two years, a caring mother and wonderful grandmother.  She loved to fix gourmet meals for the holidays, which her extended family and friends thoroughly enjoyed.  She will be greatly missed.

Peggy was a very unique individual.  She had four college degrees: Bachelors in Psychology, University of Denver, Masters in Special Education, University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Masters in Gifted and Talented, University of Colorado, Boulder and an EDS in School Psychology, University of Northern Colorado.  She spent forty-six years as an educator, working many years in the classroom.  She ran after-school programs and was instrumental in developing the gifted talented program in Harrison School District.  Her devoted services to literary programs won wide-spread admiration from her peers.  A lifelong learner and avid reader, she worked to instill this passion in her students.  All she wanted was to make a difference.

Peggy loved children, all children, but the apples of her eyes were her two granddaughters.  When not with her family, there is nothing she enjoyed more than to curl up and read a great book.

A special thank you to Pikes Peak Hospice and staff, especially Ruth Hart, for the wonderful care of Peggy.

A celebration of life will be held for Peggy and Brad at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910.

In lieu of flowers or cards, please consider a donation in her name to the Harrison Scholarship Foundation, 1060 Harrison Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
