Matthew C. Krauth, age 22, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2001, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his home in Colorado Springs. He was a 2007 graduate of Cheyenne Mountain High School and was a Chef at Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
Matthew Charles Krauth was born on July 9, 1989 in Tucson, Arizona to David and Maureen “Moe” Krauth. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid Chargers Football fan. He also loved off roading, golf and spending time with the children’s programs at his church, Fellowship of the Rockies.
Matt is survived by his parents; his paternal grandfather: James Krauth of Salem, Oregon; his aunts: Darlene (and Frank) Heavlin of Chandler, Arizona; Nancy Ledbetter of Tucson, Arizona and Brenda Krauth of Kirkland, Washington; and his uncles: Bob (and Patty) Krauth of Yakima, Washington and Robert McElhaney of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by five special cousins.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Maura and Henry Johnson and his paternal grandmother: Barbara Krauth.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Fellowship of the Rockies, 1625 S. Eighth Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905. A luncheon reception will follow the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Matthew’s memory may be made to Next Step Student Ministries in care of Fellowship of the Rockies.
Matt will be best remembered for his strong will, his beautiful smile and his great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.
