Maxfield Reid

Maxfield Reid died in a local hospital on Sunday, March 10, 2013.

Max was born April 3, 1918 in Canada. The family moved to Detroit in 1936. After World War II Max moved to Colorado Springs in the late fifties, having served in the Army Air Corps for two years.

He was a specialist in lettering and mechanical drawing. Seventeen years were spent running a photography business on Pikes Peak and working for Cooper Postcard Company the rest of the year as their photographer. He also spent some time working in screen-art and traveled three states as a representative for Fuji Film Company.

Max is survived by a sister, M. Connie Applegate; a niece, Shawn Campbell of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three nephews: Gregg Applegate, Mark Applegate, and Brad Applegate all of Colorado; two great-nephews: Dustin Applegate, and Daniel May Applegate; six great-nieces: Chelsea Applegate, Savannah Applegate, Elizabeth Clavier, Keaveny May Applegate, Erin Whitney, and Amanda Fuzi; a great-great-niece, Madeline Clavier; and a great-great-nephew, Aiden Clavier. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Shade; his wife, Jean Reid; and a niece, Reid Fuzi.

A family gathering is planned at a later date.
