Mildred E. Hayhurst, 91, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away of natural causes, Friday evening, July 20, 2012. Mildred will be returned to Colorado Springs where she will rejoin her husband of 63 years, Edward, who preceded her in death in 2005, and daughter Judy, who passed away in 1970.
Mildred was born October 22, 1920 in Fort Lupton, Colorado to Ira Leroy and Mabel (Alexander) Morgan. Daughter of a Methodist minister, Mildred was active in the Methodist church. A graduate of Bethel School of Nursing, Mildred became a registered nurse.
Mildred married Edward Wilson Hayhurst on March 15, 1942. She and Edward lived most of their married life in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they raised four children, Judith Frances, Edward Guerard, Richard Alan, and David LeRoy. In 2000, Ed and Millie moved to Nampa, Idaho, home of their son, Richard.
Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband, daughter Judy, and her sisters Frances and Pearl. She is survived by her three sons, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2111 Carlton Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. Private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery.
