Miyoko Turner passed away June 14, 2017.
Miyoko was born April 5, 1941 in Okinawa, Japan. She married the love of her life on December 17, 1970 and came to the United States where she learned English and gained her citizenship.
Miyoko had a heart of gold and a big smile on her face. She was a tiny, but very strong woman who touched so many. Miyoko loved spending time with her family and friends and playing bingo.
She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, and uncles, all from Okinawa; and her husband, Jack E. Turner, Jr.
Miyoko is survived by a sister, many nephews and nieces from Okinawa, two sons: Jack (Liz) Turner, Pete Turner; a daughter, Sandy (Jesse) Rodrigues; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and many adopted children and grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. all at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard. A reception will follow the services at Twisters Restaurant, 2810 E. Fountain Boulevard. Private inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
