Morris B. Pitts, 96, born December 20, 1921, to Leila and C. Ernest Pitts in Greenville, Alabama, passed away peacefully at Brookdale Bear Creek Long-Term Care on July 26, 2018. He was a 48-year resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by E. Roverta Pitts, his wife of 74 years.
He was a 30-year veteran of the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Colonel and serving as a fighter pilot during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was also an avid golfer and accomplished bowler.
He is survived by children: Pamela R. Brown (Jerry), Patricia A. Marx (Joel), and Mark B. Pitts; grandchildren: Scott M. Brown, Karen A. Brown, Sarah Kelly (Donovan) and Rachel Hungerford (Joel); and great-grandson, Daegan Kelly. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine Misso of Birmingham, Alabama.
Entombment at Shrine of Remembrance was private. Charitable donations may be made to the Springs Rescue Mission.
