Nancy K. Lippert, 74, passed away on the 23rd of August 2023. She had been a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1985.
So full of life and love. Feisty and lively in spirit. Fierce as a wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Steadfast in the defense of her faith and family.
Nancy was born in February 1949 to Robert F. and Theresa C. (Marmo) Snee of Canton, Ohio. Nancy married Rodney Lippert on the 4th of September 1971.
Nancy was a faithful servant of God as a member of Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs. She made a pilgrimage, with her husband, to the Vatican in 2016, and again, with family, in 2018 where she was blessed on the main alter in the Sistine Chapel. “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for you, I always pray with joy because of your faith in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:2-6
She attended Central Catholic High School (Canton, Ohio) and Bowling Green University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. She worked in the banking industry for most of her career, retiring as a mortgage underwriter.
Nancy pursued many passions throughout her life, including earning a Black Belt in martial arts, designing and gifting beautiful floral arrangements, spreading the word of God to youth through catechism, writing strongly opinionated letters to officials, and keeping her husband and children in line with back-of-the-head slaps and heavy eye-rolling.
She loved her family and is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Rod; her children: Erich (Kerry) and Jason (Shawna); her siblings: James (Lil) and Joseph (Dave); her grandchildren: Sydney (Andrew), Halee, Gwen, Seth, Emerson, and Colton; her great grandchildren: Wyatt and Kynsley; her nephews and nieces: Justin (Phyllis), Tamara, Matthew, Jessica, and Allison (Sean); her aunts, uncles and cousins in Canton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Theresa; her father and mother-in-law: Harold and Eloise; and her brother: David.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 30 August 2023 with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, 31 August 2023 at Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery will follow the service.
