January 5, 1947 – March 3, 2021
Nancy Batten, 74, succumbed to cancer at her home on March 3, 2021. She was a resident of Black Forest for 28 years. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandma and friend.
Nancy was born to Omer and Mildred Wagahoft in Fort Wayne, IN. The family moved to Phoenix, AZ when she was 3. She met Albert Batten at First Baptist Church in Glendale, AZ where they were married on March 22, 1969.
Nancy loved animals, gardening, cooking, sewing, and her granddaughters, not necessarily in that order. She was also an accomplished, award-winning artist, having her work displayed several times in various branches of the Pikes Peak Library District.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Albert; her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Beth; her three granddaughters, Raegan, Luella, and Cora; and sisters Virginia and Susie.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at Vista Grande Baptist Church in Colorado Springs at 2:00 on Saturday, March 20, 2021. A private burial ceremony will be at the Air Force Academy cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Vista Grande Baptist Church or to the Springs Rescue Mission.
Cancer won the battle, Nancy won the war, but Jesus won the ultimate victory.

19 Mar 2021Remembering you in prayer and trusting GOD’S promises to reassure and strengthen you in
this time of loss. May He console you with His peace and surround you with His love.
Somehow I had hoped to be there for Nancy’s Memorial service. I’ve prayed that “He
would make a way when there seems to be no way.” But sadly that didn’t happen.
Nancy was a dear friend, a kindred spirit. We shared many special times and we had
hoped for many more. We both love God and His Word which has given us the hope of
eternity together with our loved ones in a special place called heaven where we will have
new bodies without pain and suffering.
We love all of you
