Nancy Teskey, age 78, a resident of Monument passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. She was a retired high school Student Supervisor with Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
Nancy Lou Baker was born on June 19, 1935 in Blue Earth, Minnesota to the late Dr. Robert and Janice (Moore) Baker. She was a 1953 graduate of Blue Earth High School and a 1956 graduate of the University of Tulsa. She married Harland Teskey on February 9, 1957 in Blue Earth. She was a member of Delta Delta Delta Women’s Fraternity, the Handbell and Vocal Choirs of Immanuel Lutheran Church and also served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the Day School at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years: LTC Harland Teskey, USAF (Ret.) of Monument; her daughter: Robyn (husband, Jerome) Montano, and their son Josh; and her daughter: Jill (husband, Dr. David) Roudebush, all of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by her sister-in-law: Beverly Teskey; three nephews: Kelly Goswick, Jeffrey Teskey, and Joel Teskey; and many friends.
A woman of strong faith, Nancy enjoyed singing, music, playing golf, and travel. She also enjoyed her grandson’s baseball games and will be best remembered for her joy of life, music and family.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 846 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. A luncheon reception will follow the services at the church. Private inurnment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Old Glory Columbarium.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran School Foundation.
