Neva L. Cousins
Neva Cousins, a resident of Colorado Springs since March 2013, passed away on May 2, 2014. She was formerly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 40 years.
Neva was born on February 11, 1921 in Douglass, Kansas to Frank A. and Iva Olena (Stice) Cousins. She attended Augusta High School in Augusta, Kansas. After graduating from business college she worked as a secretary. She regularly attended services at a Methodist church in Oklahoma City.
She was a very positive person with great appreciation for life; and thoroughly loved her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed dancing, as well as baking for her family. She was an avid sports fan who liked watching football and basketball.
She is survived by her sister, Maree Eckhardt of Fountain, Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Dean, Otis, Paul, and Richard Cousins; and one sister: Olive Cousins.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 with a funeral service following at 4:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Douglass Cemetery in Douglass, Kansas.
