Norma Jean Gillespie
June 1, 1928 – February 6, 2013
Norma Jean Gillespie died February 6 at Penrose Hospital. She was a Registered Nurse and a long time Manitou Springs resident. She struggled for 13 years with pulmonary hypertension and for the last several years, three other major health problems.
She was born June 1, 1928 in Sheldon, Iowa, the only child of Jacob and Kathryn Kuiper. She was a graduate of Sheldon High School and Junior College, St. Luke School of Nursing, and St. Francis University. She worked as a Registered Nurse in several states, including 8 years at Penrose Hospital. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lyle Gillespie; a daughter, Ann Przybylski of Manitou Springs; a son, Guy Gillespie of Colorado Springs; and grandchildren: Courtney and Sam Przybylski.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Crystal Valley Cemetery in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
