Norman “Ray” Cates passed away November 10, 2017 in Colorado Springs.
He was a power plant manager and a retired United States Air Force veteran. Norman was born October 23,1930 in Nashville, Tennessee and was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado for the last 2 years.
Survivors include his wife, Verla Cates; sons, Dennis Cates, Alan Rowley, and David Cates; daughter, Jacqueline Murray; sister, Fay Sanders; brother, George Cates; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was proceded in death by a son, Doug Cates.
A celebration of life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. A reception will follow the service at Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
