Pam Powell-Hoskinds
Pam Powell–Hoskinds, age 57, a resident of Colorado Springs since 2001, and formerly a long time resident of Grand Junction, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her home following a long illness. She was a kindred spirit, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Pamela Gay Powell was born on October 12, 1954 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late Claude Ward and Elizabeth “Betty” Gay (Oaksmith) Powell. She was a 1972 graduate of Central High School and had also graduated from Mesa State College. Her passions included styling hair, spending time with friends and family, camping, rafting and many other outdoor activities. She married Chester L. Hoskinds in November of 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
She is survived by her beloved husband: Chester; her devoted son: Garrett Powell (and Alonzo Stewart) of Colorado Springs; her grandson: Andre Michael Hoskinds of Colorado Springs; her brother: Jim (wife, Joan) Powell of Lakeville, Minnesota; her sisters: Claudia (husband, Jerry) Davis of Helena, Montana and Karen (husband, Jack) Leach of Bothel, Washington.
She is also survived by her niece: Jessica (husband, Brandon) Tripp of Missoula, Montana; and her nephew: Josh Davis of Missoula, Montana.
A celebration of her life will begin at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at High Line Lake in the High Line State Park in Grand Junction. Cremation is planned.
Pam will be best remembered for her generosity, her boisterous laugh, her kindness, intelligence and stubborn nature… but most of all, for her love of family and her many dear friends.
She will be dearly missed.
