Christ called Patricia Nettie, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs, back to her place in the House of Our Lord on January 18, 2014.

Pat is survived by her children: Kathy Renee Nettie Ballard; Sheri Kay Nettie; Guy Mathew Nettie; and Lorna Diana Sanderson, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was loved by her grandchildren: Tonja Howard, Victoria Murdock, Vanessa Nettie and Aaron Ballard. She also has nine great-grandchildren: Rhonda, Robert, Donavan, Jacob, Zoey, Kenna, Kayla, Jayden and Trystan.

She will be missed dearly by her sister: Georgiana Chapman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Norman and Nancy Nettie; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was so loved that others also called her “Mom”, “Gramma” and “Great-Gramma.”

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, CW2 John Nettie USA (Ret.), who went ahead of her so he could build her Mansion in Heaven, as he had promised her. She also was preceded in death by her parents: Guy and Atha McDaniel; a brother: Guy David; and John’s parents: Norman and Juanita Nettie.

Pat worked for the Army and Air Force Exchange until she retired (or at least her family thought she had retired). She encouraged her daughter, Kathy in her tailor and housekeeping business and was a business partner in her son’s business: Matt’s Land Maintenance and Home Handyman Service. She was a devoted Christian and loved her church, Pikes Peak Christian Church. She was the lead greeter at the Sunday 9:00 am Service, and she loved the great team that worked with her. She was also the team leader for the church’s P.A.L.S. group (Praising And Loving Seniors). She also worked with the Manitou Springs High School Alumni. She graduated with the class of 1956.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2014 at Pikes Peak Christian Church, 4955 Bradley Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80911. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made through Pikes Peak Christian Church for her family.

When remembering Pat, don’t be sad… but rejoice in the fact she had so much to give and touched so many lives. Remember her smile and the way she loved unconditionally. She was one in a million, and will be truly missed by her family and friends.
