Patricia Rae Piel, 82, of Cibolo, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2022. She was born to parents Charles Case and Ana Rebecca Darling on March 1, 1940, in Weiser, Idaho.
She graduated from Coeur d’ Alene High School in 1958. She went on to study nursing at Sacred Heart School of Nursing until she met and married Gary Paul Piel. They were married on March 30, 1959, in Spokane Washington. Together they raised three children; Mark, Michael and Melissa.
Her unwavering devotion as a loving wife and mother defined her character as a true lover of family. Her love for the Lord led her to be a Bible study leader for over 40 years, teaching right up to her passing. She was passionate about biblical and historical studies and loved traveling.
Patricia is survived by her sisters, Donna Dahl and Elizabeth Wood; sons, Mark Piel and Michael Piel; daughter, Melissa Luther; seven grandchildren, Paul, Sarah, Aaron, Garrett, Chad, Sydney and Lindsey; and six great grandchildren, Jonathan, Addilynn, Emma, Nora, Parker and Peyton.
She was preceded in death by father, Charles Darling; mother, Ana Darling (Mink); brother, David Darling; and husband, Gary Paul Piel.
The family has entrusted the Shrine of Remembrance with funeral arrangements. A memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 2:00PM at the Shrine of Remembrance, “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
