Paul Edward Melanson age 83, passed away on January 5, 2025 and joined the Heavenly Father and all of his dear friends and family in heaven. Paul was a resident of Colorado Springs, CO for 47 years and was formerly a resident of Acton, MA. Paul was retired and worked with the Department of Defense as a Civilian for 30 years. After his retirement he worked with Raymond James as an Investment Advisor.
Paul was born on April 2,1941 to Arthur Melanson & Olive Collins Melanson in Waltham, Massachusetts.
On January 7, 1967 Paul married Jeri Kelley in Leavenworth, KS. They were married for 58 wonderful years. Paul was fond of golf. He also enjoyed volunteering at The Broadmoor World Arena when his daughter Kelli figure skated, and he loved football, politics, and was an avid reader. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their various sports games. He attended Sacred Heart and St. Paul Catholic Churches.
Paul attended Newton North High School in Massachusetts and graduated in 1959. He later went on to attend the prestigious Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Paul received a bachelor’s degree in business administration and was part of ROTC where he graduated as a second lieutenant. Paul graduated college in 1964 and entered the Army. He served in the United States Army for three years. He later went back to Northeastern and received a master’s degree in accounting in 1967.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Jeri Kelley Melanson, his daughter Kelli Anne Scoville and her husband Peter Merritt Scoville, his siblings: Judy McCarthy (John), Gail Carmen, and Steven Melanson, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Paul’s beloved grandchildren, Emily Caroline Scoville & Soren Collins Scoville. He was preceded death by his brother David Melanson (Sandy survives).
