Philbert “Al” Sanchez
Philbert “Al” Sanchez, age 67, a resident of Colorado Springs, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013. He was a retired Electronics Engineer, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend.
Philbert Alfonso Sanchez was born on May 15th, 1946 in Monte Vista, Colorado to the late Alfonso and Ramona (Gallegos) Sanchez. He was a graduate of Fruita High School and grew up in Leadville. He was a Navy veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Darleen Garza of Colorado Springs; his children: Anthony (Senya) Sanchez of Clifton, Colorado; and Desiree (Tony) Murphy of California. He has one granddaughter: Myra.
Phil is also survived by four brothers: Nick, Jim (Karen), Frankie, and David (Patricia) Sanchez; and his five sisters: Rosabell Cordova, Evelyn, Maxine, Anna Marie, Joyce (Josh) VanBlerkom, and Levida (Louie) Jones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and his special friends Doug and Rose Doyle. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Carlos and Larry Sanchez and his brother-in-law Delmer Cordova.
A Rosary Service is planned for 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 17th at the Shrine of Remembrance Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 18th, at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church. A reception will follow the Mass at the church. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery.
