Phyllis Laurene Riley, age 85, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014. She was a registrar at Pikes Peak Community College and did photo refinishing and touch up at Alexandra Film

Phyllis was born on November 3, 1928 to De Ette Arnold and Elizabeth (Cook) Berry in Colorado. On August 30, 1947 she married Willard Ellis Riley.

Phyllis was fond of singing. She received a scholarship from Juilliard, and was a member of the Colorado Springs Choral. She also enjoyed gourmet cooking, and had an appreciation for gardening. Phyllis was devoted to her family and loved to be surrounded by them. She was a very loving and caring person.

She is survived by her three daughters: Kathryn (Daniel) Rountree, Cynthia Riley (Kenneth Hicks), and Janna (Max) Kiker; as well as eight grandchildren: Tyler, James, Logan, Sarah, Jeremy, Ryan, Max III and Zachary; and two great grandchildren: Dari and Colette. She was preceded in death by her loving husband: Willard, her son: James Willard Riley, her sister: Barbara (Berry) Rice and her brother: Leland Berry.

A visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Monday June 2, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel 1730 E. Fountain Boulevard. Burial will take place following the services at Evergreen Cemetery
