Porfirio Torres passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, and joined his wife in heaven. He was a hardworking man who worked in construction until retirement. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to all.
Porfirio was born on September 15, 1961, to Elpidio Torres and Felicitas Miranda in Guanajuato, Mexico. He later moved to Colorado Springs where he has resided ever since.
He loved his family, soccer, football-Go Dallas! cooking and was passionate about his truck. The joy of his life was his wife, children, and grandkids. Porfirio was known for his smile and sarcastic sense of humor. Porfirio loved martial arts movies and we also cannot forget his love for donuts. He has touched many hearts and created many memories while he was with us that will be cherished deeply.
Porfirio was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Lopez; mother, Felicitas Miranda; and sister, Margarita Torres. He is survived by his father, Elpidio Torres; his brothers, Juan Torres, Luis Torres, Martin Torres, and Joaquin Torres; his sister, Remedios Torres; his four sons: Anthony Lopez, Michael Lopez, Fernando Lopez and wife Terza Lopez, and Juan Torres; his daughters, Sonya Lopez and her husband, Adam Collins, and Felisa Torres; his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at Shrine of Remembrance. A Chapel service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expr., Colorado Springs, CO 80913.
