Quentin Lyle Florey
May 20, 1923 – November 2, 2017
Quentin, age 94 years, passed away on November 2, 2017. He was a resident of Colorado Springs for the last twenty-seven years of his life and was formerly a resident of Fairfax, Virginia, and Denver, Colorado. He was a water research scientist with the US Department of the Interior.
Quentin was born on May 20, 1923 to Earl T. Florey and Bessie Grace Bryan in Richfield, Kansas. On February 9, 1951 he married Bonnie Brown in Denver, Colorado.
Quentin was fond of growing roses, playing tennis and playing golf. He graduated from Simla Union High School and graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Physics. He served in the United States Army for 6 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Loretta Livingston and Susan Stillwell (married to Michael); and two grandsons, Brian Stillwell (married to Destiny) and Robert Stillwell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Bessie; his sister, Letha; and his wife, Bonnie.
A memorial service will be held starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at The Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel.
