Ralph Edward Eddy, 68, of Dalton, Nebraska, passed away on December 22, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born on July 27, 1955, to William and Caroline (Rapozo) in Dalton, Nebraska. Ralph grew up in Dalton attending Dalton High School and graduated in 1973. He married Mary Norman on November 27, 1976, in Sidney, Nebraska. They later moved to Denver, Colorado where they had 2 children that were his proudest accomplishments. He divorced in October 2001 and later moved to Lake Havasu City in 2008 to take care of his aging parents.
Ralph was a sociable individual who had a passion for words. He had a knack for poetry and enjoyed expanding his vocabulary by reading the dictionary. His love for poetry also made him skilled at crossword puzzles. Ralph embraced a laid-back attitude towards life’s challenges and often shared his motto, “don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things.” He was affectionately known as “Rufus” by those closest to him.
He enjoyed camping, talking story, playing cards and cherished the freedom of riding his motorcycle on the open road. He held onto the dream of returning to it one day.
Ralph is survived by his children: son, Adam (Yejin) Eddy, and granddaughter, Hope Monet of Colorado Springs; and daughter, Danielle Eddy of Aurora, Colorado. He is also survived by his siblings: Susan Young of Dalton, Nebraska, Jim (Nancy) Eddy of Sidney, Nebraska, Patricia “Lani” Jacobus of Maricopa, Arizona, Linda (Bob) Loutzenhiser of Bayard, Nebraska, Grace (Larry) Barnes of Jenison, Michigan, Ernie (LeAnne) Eddy of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, and Monica Eddy of West Point, Utah; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins across the country.
