Ramona F. Kelly, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2017 at her home. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 45 years.
She was born on March 23, 1936 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Claude and Marguerite (Smith) Freeman.
Ramona is survived by her son, Mark Strickland; daughter, Elise (husband Stephen) Slack; three stepsons: Grant (wife Brenda) Kelly, Gary (wife Connie) Kelly, and Greg Kelly. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Kelly; her parents; and brother, John David Freeman.
Ramona loved to cook. Over the years, she fed dozens of volunteers at many charity events, family at the holidays, friends and neighbors at parties. She was an avid reader and had a large library of books. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles and spending time with her friends, AKA The Wine Posse.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18th at Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Garden of Angels.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Partners in Housing in Ramona’s name.
