Ramona Plowman
April 9, 1933 – March 23, 2014
Ramona (Bagley) Plowman was born at home on the family farm near Blooming Prairie, Minnesota to Ralph and Randina (Sacquitne) Bagley. She attended Bagley Country School until she was 9, when the family moved to Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1951.
She married Mahlon Plowman on December 29, 1950, in the middle of her senior year. After graduation she was with her husband, who was in the United States Air Force, at various duty stations, until they moved to his family farm near Lyle, Minnesota in July of 1954. In 1955 she began work at the George A. Hormel Company in Austin, Minnesota. She worked there until the family moved to Colorado Springs in February of 1963.
Mona gave her life to the Lord and loved Him and served Him with all her heart. She and Mahlon were instrumental in organizing the first Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Colorado Springs in 1964.
She and her husband owned and operated LPW, Inc., an asphalt paving business, until 1989. She then began working at CMA Headquarters and worked there until 1999.
Mona was known for her delicious fudge, and became fondly known as “The Fudge Lady.” She loved cats, letter-writing, traveling with Mahlon, bowling, and especially being with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her husband; her sister, Jeanette; sons: Jeff (Twila) Plowman, and David (Donna) Plowman; daughter, Debbie (Edsel) Miller; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Irene; and a daughter, Cindie.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at North Springs Alliance Church, 1702 Chapel Hills Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
