Raymond C. (Ray) Renneberger, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend went peacefully to sleep on Sunday, April 26, 2015 as he let his soul slip gently into God’s embrace. Ray loved his wife, Linda, without equal. He loved his family, friends and community and always worked hard to make all he knew feel his sense of joy at life in general. His energy and his eagerness to include everyone in his enthusiasm-no matter what was happening at the moment-were infectious.
Born in Washington D.C. on July 19, 1932, Ray’s first job was to spend three summers at the FBI. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 after which he joined the 3M Company where he was in sales and marketing for over twenty years. After moving to Colorado Springs he became a Realtor in 1973 and enjoyed that career until his retirement. Ray worked at the Ingles Company, The Broadmoor Agency, Paul Hamilton Company and then became a partner in Fidelity Real Estate and Development, a position he retained until last year.
Ray graduated from the University of Maryland where he was president of his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. Among numerous community activities, Ray was active in JDRF and the El Paso Club in Colorado Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and son, Scott Snyder. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Debbie, grandchildren Chelsea (Travis) Pearson, Holly Weller, Stacy and Molly Snyder, eight great grandchildren and his beloved dog, Heidi Too.
It is also important to mention that Ray loved hors d’oeuvres. Also, no one could do a Donald Duck voice quite like Ray. It was a unique and delightful talent…one of many which thrilled and terrified numerous children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Services will be held Thursday, April 30, 3:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 420 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO.
