Raymond “Ray” Garcia (74) passed away 12 September 2021 surrounded by his family.
Ray was born 16 January 1947 and after serving as a combat engineer in Vietnam he returned to Colorado and married Mary Jane in 1983. He enjoyed loud music, woodworking, and over-engineering household items.
His jokes are survived by his daughters: Belinda (MN), Diana and Jeannie (CO); and sons David and John (CO); his 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; as well as his brother Dick Garcia (AZ). He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, humor, stubbornness, and self-reliance.
Ray follows Mary Jane to heaven to see his son, Paul Zanol, his twin Ronnie Garcia, and sister Elaine Garcia.
Funeral services will be held in Colorado Springs at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd., on 23 September 2021 at 2pm with a reception to follow.
Interment will be held in Denver at Fort Logan National Cemetery on 7 October 2021 at 2 pm with military honors. Please arrive by 1:30pm and wait in your vehicle in Staging Area – A for the funeral procession to start. Reception to follow.
