Rebecca L Carter-Colvin, 29, of Colorado Springs, CO entered into rest January 25, 2015. Rebecca was born on November 26, 1985 to proud parents, Kirk and Denise (Larson) Carter.
Rebecca had many talents, including playing the clarinet, organ, piano, and being in a marching band. From the age of 5, she got her first keyboard, and by 5th grade was taking formal lessons which she continued throughout her life. She enjoyed the piano so much that she began sharing and teaching others as well. She continued her love of music through school and was a graduate of Air Academy High School and UCCS.
Rebecca was fond of helping people and spent a majority of her life contributing to the betterment of people and the community. She proudly served on the Board of Muanjadi, a charity which raises money for Congo schooling. She was also very involved with the Cancer League of Colorado where she volunteered for several fundraising events such as Over the Edge, The Craft Fair, The Galla, and Race For Research, just to name a few.
She is survived by her loving parents: Kirk and Denise Carter; Sister Katy Wright; two nieces, Brittany and Jessica Wright; two nephews: Christopher and Noah Wright; and several loving friends.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 30, 2015, 2pm at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home with interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Olympian Plaza Reception & Event Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Cancer League of Colorado. It was Rebecca’s request that guests wear the color pink at her Celebration of Life Funeral Service.
