Renee was born on January 14, 1962, in Artesia, California. She was a middle child to Charles Homer “Hank” Hankins and Mary Inez Hankins. She had two brothers, Bobby Hankins and Charles Hankins, and three sisters, Sandra Barnett (Mike), Dianna Hankins and Sharron Reynolds (Rick). She graduated from Mitchell High School. She then went straight to the working life.
Renee married early in life and was blessed with her daughter, Nicole. Years later she re-married and was blessed with another daughter, Melissa. She spent many of her years being a single mom taking care of her daughters the best she could. She was always a hard worker whether it was in her factory jobs or her hospitality jobs working at nursing homes, apartments or hospitals. She always made friends with her residents and created many lifelong bonds that she has to this day. She was a proud mother and always liked to brag about her daughters. Bobby introduced Renee to his MHC mechanic and in 2017 Renee and Guy Woods married at their home of residence. She was blessed to have her dad walk her down the aisle. Renee was a hardworking, Harley riding, bad ass woman! She loved to go camping and go for long rides on her Harley with her husband. Renee was always sassy even to the end, but you knew she would do anything for you! She had a heart of gold.
September 2018, Renee received the news she had small cell lung cancer. She fought for almost 5 years knowing the end would come. She never stopped fighting, till the cancer won!
Renee is survived by her husband, Guy Woods; daughters: Nicole Trumble, Melissa Kepley (Jonathan); her mother; siblings; Dawna Ponce; stepchildren: Guy Woods IV (Sharron), Wesley Woods, Amber Woods, Holly Woods and Clifford Shanks; also, many grandchildren: Kaycie Davis, Taylor Chase, Kevin Davis, Blake Trumble, Brooklynn Trumble, Bentley Kepley and Madison Kepley; one great-grandson, Percival Chase; and multiple step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Hank; brother, Bobby; nephew, Johnny; and grandparents, Sally and Candido Martinez.
