Rex Artemus Kofford, 90, passed away on January 8, 2016. He lived in Colorado Springs since 1971, when he started dairy businesses. Years later he drove buses for children with special needs.

Rex was born in Orem, Utah on June 15, 1925 during the Depression. During World War II he delivered supplies to troops around the world as a Merchant Marine. On June 28, 1946, he married Alene in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were happily married for 69 years.

Rex was a versatile musician, from harmonica to ukulele. He loved singing in school, a family quartet over 20 years and several church events. He often had his wife serve as the accompanist.

Rex was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having held several positions of service; including twice as a bishop and a church mission to New York.

He is remembered for a wonderful sense of humor and ability to make friends and bring laughter wherever he went.

Rex is survived by his loving wife, five children, 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by ten siblings.

Visitation will be held from 9:00-10:15 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5485 Hopalong Trail in Colorado Springs. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Perpetual Education Fund.
