Rex. D. Whitted, 83, of Colorado Springs passed away on November 5, 2014. Rex was born on December 21, 1930 in Sevierville, Tennessee to Perry and Loma (Justus) Whitted.

He married Delores Zeiszler in Hazen, North Dakota on July 30, 1950. Rex worked in construction, moving his family to many parts of the country until settling in Colorado Springs in 1967. He retired in 1993 and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 9 for 64 years.

Rex is survived by his children: Ken (Bobbi) Whitted, Victoria (Rick) Barcelon and Gail (Steve) Budner; daughter-in-law, Marsha Whitted; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; 4 brothers and 1 sister; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years on November 17, 2013; his son, Dwight Whitted in 2003; and his daughter, Teresa Lee Turner in 1989.

A private family interment at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum will be held.
