Reynaldo “Archie” Archuleta passed away on October 14, 2016 holding the hand of his loving wife Dorothy. Rey was the area office maintenance employee of the U.S. Postal Service. He was born in Center, Colorado on April 9, 1938 to Adonario “Don” and Stella (Perea) but raised by grandparents Manuel and Lucia Archuleta. He was married to Dorotea (Marques) Archuleta on June 6, 1958.
Rey was part of the Center Vikings basketball team and after graduating he joined the United States Air Force where he served for 22 1/2 years. Upon retiring he joined the U.S. Postal Service and worked there for 28 years as a maintenance employee. Rey was very involved in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church as a marriage prep counselor for 33 years, he was a Eucharistic minister, usher, and would help with the sound equipment. He was the church Fiesta coordinator for many years. He was a lifetime member of the T.R.E.A. where you would find him and Dorothy line dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorotea M. (Marques) Archuleta; their children: Donny (Maria), Reynette Michelle, Yvette (Rick) Trujillo. He had 6 grandchildren: Sol Moreno, Uriah Moreno, Chaz (Amanda) Archuleta, Marc (Chelzie) Trujillo, Joshua Trujillo, Albert Baca; and 11 great-grandchildren: Deon, Cierra, Dominic, Isiah, Leah, Dontez, Daniella, Onyx, Lilly, Jayiez, and Xaiden. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Friday, October 28, 2016. The Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with Mass at 10:00 a.m. and a Veteran Honors ceremony following in the patio of the church.
