Richard “Rich” G. Hankins

Richard “Rich” G. Hankins, age 74, a resident of Colorado Springs for 19 years, was taken to Heaven on Sunday, June 2, 2013. He was a beloved husband and father.

He was born September 8, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Arle E. and Mary A. (Cuarda) Hankins. A man of strong will and an even bigger heart, he gave us many memorable journeys during his full life. A proud veteran, he served as an Air Force Command & Control Operator and had many other vocations, including volunteer work for the country he loved. His family will continually be blessed by the love, laughter, cheer, and inspiration that he has filled their lives with.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; and daughter, Denise Hankins. He is also survived by his son, David Hankins; daughters: Kim Hankins; and Susan Grahn; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 Carefree Circle North. Private interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rich’s name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2444 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.
