Rita M. Assaiante-Ozolins
Rita Assaiante, age 80, passed away April 30, 2012. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 54 years.
Rita was born on November 2, 1931 in Stettin, Germany to Erich Paul and Gertrude (Wiese) Ott. She married Janis Ozolins on April 30, 1988 in Colorado Springs. She worked as an Insurance Agent and a Travel Agent as well as working in the restaurant and appliance businesses.
She enjoyed traveling, painting, landscaping, gardening, and swimming. She was also a member of the Germania Club.
She is survived by her husband, Janis Ozolins; her daughter, Jennifer (husband Clarence) Young; and step-daughters: Veronika Davidson, and Anita Rosen of Colorado Springs, and Loreen (husband Bruce Turner) Ozolins of New Zealand; her grandchildren: Sean Young of Seattle Washington, and Cary Young of Highland Ranch, Colorado; and her great-grandchildren: Cody, Ashley, Nicholas, Aimee, Colin, and Natalie.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Private inurnment will be at Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Alcove of Resurrection.
