Robert E. Brun

Robert E. Brun, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1958, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was a veteran of World War II, being stationed in Florence, Italy, and moving to the Air Force, to further serve his country. Robert was a flight engineer being stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Robert retired from the Air Force after 22 years of dedicated service, as a Master Sergeant.
Robert continued to work and was employed at Colorado Interstate Gas Corporation in Colorado Springs where he retired, finishing his working career.
Robert was very involved in the local community and was one of the founding members of Holy Family Catholic Church in Security, Colorado and was a member of The Knights of Columbus, and Sunrise Sertoma.
Robert is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Dorothy E. Brun of Colorado Springs; son, Timothy Brun of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughter, Ashley, of Colorado Springs; and great-grandson, Brayden of Colorado Springs; and brother, Richard C. Mau, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his sons: Robert T. Brun, James E. Brun, Thomas Brun; and his sister, Patricia.
Robert was a graduate of The University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. A reception will follow and will be held at the Olympian Plaza Reception and Event Center, 975 South Union Boulevard.
