Robert Eldon Eigsti, age 84, a resident of Colorado Springs since 1927, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at a local hospital. He was a retired insurance adjuster.
After high school, Robert served in the United States Navy during World War II and the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Mariam Senseney on June 5, 1954 and they had fifty amazing years of marriage.
He is survived by his sons: Douglas (wife, Carnette) Eigsti of Colorado Springs; and Greg (wife, Rochelle) Eigsti of Omaha, Nebraska. He has nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: David (wife, Ruth) Eigsti; Wilbur “Jack” (wife, Leona) Eigsti; and Wilmer (wife, Ranelle) Eigsti. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mariam on June 27, 2004; his parents; and a brother, Phillip.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel. Entombment will be at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
Robert was a gentle man who proudly raised his family to revere God and follow the scriptures.
