Robert G. Chacon, 75, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by both his parents Amarante Chacon and Soledad (Martinez), and one brother: David M. Chacon.
He was born September 12, 1941 in Taos, New Mexico, but was a resident of Colorado Springs for 55 years. He was raised by his paternal grand parents: Epimenio and Amada Chacon. He was married to Dora (Gonzales) on December 2, 1962 in Sidney, Nebraska.
Robert is survived by his wife Dora Chacon, Sons: Robert (Diana) and Russell Chacon, Daughters: Doreen Buck (Richard), Denise Greco, Donna Gibson (Chris), and Danielle Martinez; one Brother: Amarante Chacon (Gloria), He is also survived by 20 Grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Dad worked for King Soopers for 34 years and retired in 2001. He was an avid Fisherman and hunter. He loved the Lord and was a member of Rocky Mountain Calvary for many years. He loved to paint and shared his paintings to anyone who wanted one. He enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and working on model wooden ships, and in his spare time enjoyed watching his Denver Broncos win.
Dad worked hard all his life and taught his children the value of hard work, his love for Jesus and the value of family. He was a cancer survivor and no matter how bad things were, he never complained.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There will be a celebration of his life on Wednesday, November 30, at Rocky Mountain Calvary, 4285 N Academy Blvd Colorado Springs, CO 80918 at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.
