Robert P. Tallerdy “SGT Bob” passed away on April 15, 2025, at home with his family by his side.
He was a Vietnam veteran that served 20 years and retired from the United States Army in 1984. Robert then worked for the United States Postal Service for 23 years. While Robert was stationed at Fort Carson, he met his beloved wife, JoAnn Tallerdy, at the USO in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were happily married for 53 years until JoAnn passed in 2023.
Robert loved to go fishing in the summer and loved to volunteer his time to help at the USO and with the Patriot Guard Riders. He loved to give back to the US soldiers. Robert would help anyone he could; his famous saying was “If I got it, you got it.” Robert loved to travel and do his Sunday adventure family car rides. Wherever they would end up was a mystery but so much fun.
He leaves behind three beautiful children: daughter, Teresa Jackson (Kenneth Jackson), son, James Tallerdy (Stephani Tallerdy), and daughter, Jennifer Torres (Wendell Torres); seven grandchildren: Deanna, Jessica, Angel, Bianca, Shawn, Sara, Erica; and four great-grandchildren.
Services in honor of Robert’s life will be held with a 9:00AM visitation, followed by a 10:00AM funeral service, Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel, 1730 East Fountain Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. Robert will be laid to rest with his wife, JoAnn, where they will have the beautiful view of the mountains at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
We will love and miss you forever, dad. Thank you for the life you worked hard to give us. You’re watching over, we got it now. You were an amazing father. Thank you for the memories. Go dance high in the mountains with mom.
Love,
Teresa, James, and Jennifer
